A rooftop café near Koramangala and BTM Layout
Café Luma Haus is on the roof of Hotel Paramos Meeds, behind the BBMP Madiwala office in BTM Layout 1st Stage, a short ride from Koramangala, Madiwala market and St John's Hospital. There are two ways to sit: outside under the pergola with the city around you, or inside a glass-walled room with a blossom tree, green armchairs and a black-and-white floor. It is open every day from 9 AM to 10 PM.
The baristas work through the classics, from single and double espresso to cappuccino, flat white and the house Mocha Luma latte, then iced lattes, frappes and cold foam cappuccino for warm afternoons. There are seven milkshakes, from rich chocolate to rose, and mocktails like the Electric Luma Shock and Luma Sunrise. To eat: peri peri fries, masala nachos, club sandwiches, burgers and paneer or chicken kathi rolls.
People come up for different reasons. Friends meet for coffee, freelancers bring a laptop for the free Wi-Fi and charging points, couples stay on for the evening lights, and hotel guests unwind after a day in the city. There is a designated smoking area on the roof, and the café can be booked for birthdays and small get-togethers.
